Leiwen visited the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research - Atmospheric Environmental Research in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on Sept. 7, 2016. Leiwen met Prof. Almut Arneth Head of Division "Ecosystem-Atmosphere Interactions" who has been collaborating with Leiwen on a series of publications on demographic changes and future wildfire risks, including one recent publication in Natural Climate Change (http://www.nature.com/nclimate/journal/v6/n8/full/nclimate2999.html) . Leiwen gave a public lecture on "Demographic Modeling for Climate Change Researches", and then held a meeting with Prof. Arneth's research group. They researched agreement on further research collaborations and joint PhD student training program
